You wouldn’t know it to look at it, but Toronto has quite a few hidden beaches for an urban centre. One of these beaches is located in Humber Bay Park East. You can access Humber Bay Park East from the Martin Goodman Trail at Park Lawn Road, at which point you veer to the south into the park area. If coming by car, you can park on Marine Parade Drive or in the municipal parking lot off of Park Lawn Road. Continue walking south, crossing a bridge towards the lake, and you’ll come upon this relatively private beach hidden behind the trees. You’ll find a handful of people enjoying the vista while reading the newspaper, sunbathing, or having a weekend picnic lunch. There are no lifeguards on duty, but on hot days, some people (and dogs) venture into Lake Ontario. Washrooms are located nearby in a building northwest of the beach.
