The TD Toronto Jazz Festival, which runs June 24 – July 3, 2011, is expanding its playground into Toronto’s historic Distillery District. Festival patrons will be able to watch jazz artists perform at two locations in the Distillery: the Mainstage and the Boiler House patio. The Distillery District’s setting provides a great backdrop for the festival where guests will be able to enjoy free Toronto Jazz Festival performances at the Mainstage, then browse and shop at the District’s art galleries and boutiques in between sets, or simply enjoy dinner and drinks while listening to the Boiler House patio jazz artists. Two acts to note include former founding Artistic Director of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Jim Galloway, who will perform with friends on Thursday, June 30, 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 3, noon at the Mainstage, while well-known Toronto bluesman Danny Marks will appear on the Boiler House patio on Friday, June 24 at 6 p.m.
