When you’ve been in the office all day, it’s a welcome relief to get outside after work and enjoy Toronto’s balmy evenings. To that effect, Longo’s is sponsoring free Tuesday night movies at Harbourfront’s WestJet Stage throughout the summer. In addition, during each Tuesday night movie, Longo’s will be giving out free food samples, which complement the setting of each film, from its nearby location at Maple Leaf Square. The Longo’s Free Flicks movie schedule for the rest of the summer is as follows:

Tuesday, July 26, 2011, 9 p.m. – Amal tells the story of a New Delhi rickshaw driver whose livelihood is threatened by the city’s progress. Shown at the Toronto Film Festival. Longo’s free food sample is chapatti with mango chutney.

Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 9 p.m. – Lost in Translation stars Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson as two lost souls looking for life’s meaning in Tokyo. Longo’s free food sample is sushi.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011, 9 p.m. – Audience choice. Vote online for Cairo Time, This Movie is Broken or The Tourist. Longo’s free food sample is brownie ice cream.

The WestJet Stage is located just west of the Natrel pond.
