
The Canopy Theatre Company is performing Germaine Greer’s adaptation of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata – The Sex Strike from July 20, 2011 to August 6, 2011 at Philosopher’s Stage on Philosopher’s Walk at the University of Toronto campus. The Greek comedy focuses on the endeavours of Lysistrata to persuade her fellow wives to withhold sex from their husbands until they end the Peloponnesian War. The play is performed from Wednesday to Saturday at 8 p.m. during the scheduled time period. Bring your own blankets to sit on; lawn chairs will be allowed at the edge of the seating area. Tickets for Lysistrata are Adults $10; Students/Seniors $8 with pay-what-you-can on Wednesdays (suggested minimum $8).
