
Fashionistas, vintage clothing lovers and bargain hunters take note: the 34th annual Clothing Show is about to take over Toronto’s Exhibition Place on the weekend of Sept. 23-25, 2011 and there will be original pieces, vintage clothing, estate jewelry and sample sales of up to 90% off retail prices. Local Canadian designers such as Debbie Cham, Andy Hall, Jennifer Fukushima and Adriana Fulop will be displaying their latest designs at the show. You will also find pieces from more established designers such as Guido and Mary, Ben Sherman, Fred Perry, Paige and 7 for all Mankind.
Check out the Streetwear section for hand-screened shirts. Runway shows scheduled throughout the weekend will keep you up to date on local designers and alterna fashion. If you’re looking for unique clothing that you ain’t gonna find at the Eaton Centre, this show is for you. Adults $8 (online before the show), $10 in person; Students 13-17 $7; Seniors $5; 12 and under free. Free re-admission. Bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank and receive a free gift (limited quantities). The Clothing Show hours are Sept. 23, 2011, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sept. 24, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sept. 25, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
