The leaves are beginning to turn colour and fall has definitely arrived. To mark the occasion, High Park is holding its annual free Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from noon to 4:30 p.m. The festival will take place at the south end of High Park near Colborne Lodge and the High Park children’s garden. Activities for children include face painting, pumpkin decorating, horse and wagon rides and nature crafts. Colborne Lodge, a historical museum and former home of the original owner of High Park, will be open for tours and festival-goers will be treated to warm apple cider. There is a $2 minimum donation to carve a pumpkin; however, participants will get to take it home, along with a candle, for Halloween. If you enter High Park from the Queensway, there is limited parking at the top of the hill. Alternatively, you can park in the central section of the park near Grenadier Restaurant and walk south or take TTC.
