Updated for 2018: If you are organizing a large holiday party in Toronto during the Christmas season and trying to please everyone’s tastes, sometimes it’s easier to choose a restaurant that offers a holiday buffet. Some of Toronto’s historic properties that provide a wonderful ambiance during the holidays are offering special Christmas buffets beginning in November and leading up to Christmas.
Winter Buffet at Hart House 2018
On Dec. 11, 2018, enjoy a Winter Buffet at Hart House’s Great Hall at the University of Toronto. The winter buffet includes traditional stuffed turkey, Ontario slow-roasted beef (Halal), pasta, sustainable seafood catch of the day, vegan dishes, salads, cakes, flans, plum pudding and fresh fruit for dessert, coffee, tea and eggnog. With a roaring fireplace, wood-beam arched ceiling and oak-panelled walls, a more festive environment could not be had. Adults $52.95 (includes tax and gratuity); Students $43.49 (with valid student ID). Groups of 10 or more receive 10% discount. Black Creek Pioneer Village Sunday Christmas Dinners 2018
While Black Creek Pioneer Village is not offering a holiday buffet, they are offering Sunday Christmas Dinners with menu options on December 2, 9 and 16, 2018 at their Halfway House Restaurant so we thought we would include them. The Menus includes:
- Roasted Leek & Cauliflower Soup OR Greens Salad with Roasted Yam, Pomegranate, Beets and Goat Cheese
- Traditional Roasted Turkey with apple sage stuffing, sauteed Brussels sprouts, garlic mashed potato, gravy and cranberry sauce OR Lentil & Quinoa Stuffed Baked Acorn Squash with smoked tomato, basmati rice and sauteed Brussels sprouts

Festive Lunch Buffet at Old Mill and Spa 2018
The English, Tudor-style Old Mill Inn and Spa overlooking the Humber River offers a festive lunch buffet from Nov. 26 to Dec. 29, 2018 Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Relax by a wood-burning fireplace in the majestic dining room while enjoying a holiday menu of soup, salads, turkey, stuffing, cranberries, meat entrees, vegetarian dishes, pasta, potatoes, cakes, tortes and fresh fruit.
