Indie artist Feist will perform at Massey Hall in Toronto on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 8 p.m. Feist rose to stardom after the release of 2007’s The Reminder and breakout hits “I Feel It All” and “1234,” the jingle that advertised the Apple iPod nano. Feist’s newest critically-acclaimed CD, Metals, strays away from the pop sounds of The Reminder and ventures into unfamiliar yet highly listenable territory. You’ll have no trouble listening to Metals from front to back without skipping tracks due to in part to Feist’s ethereal vocals and the gorgeous instrumentation. If you listen closely, you’ll hear glimpses of Joni Mitchell in Feist’s contralto vocal stylings, particularly in the song, “How Come You Never Go There.” Tickets for Feist’s Massey Hall performance are $35-$55.
