Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts lined up outside the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto to attend a complimentary yoga class at the foot of the ROM’s majestic Buddha on Thursday, January 26, marking the first of the three-part yoga Expansion Series, compliments of Lululemon athletica Yorkville.

This empowering 75-minute vinyasa flow class was led by special guest instructor, Linda Malone of IAMYOGA who took all levels,  including beginners, into consideration and focused on ‘grounding’ in a space shared by 350 people, dinosaurs and a knight in shining armour. The class was accompanied by drumming, meant to represent the pulsing sound of your heartbeat, which added to the general feeling of excitement and goodwill in the air. In fact, a security guard was overheard saying with a smile, “I’ve got my third eye on you.”

The next complimentary yoga class in Lululemon’s Expansion Series is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Walter Carsen Centre for the The National Ballet of Canada (470 Queen’s Quay West), led by Amber Joliat of Misfitstudio and accompanied by a string quartet from the National Ballet of Canada’s Orchestra. The theme of the class will be ‘love’ and guests are invited to enjoy complimentary tea and chocolate following the class. It is recommended that you bring your own yoga mat. The event will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Namaste.
