One of the most popular groups of the 60s after the Beatles, the Beach Boys are reuniting for a 50th Anniversary tour with a stop in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheatre on Tues., June 19, 2012. The Beach Boys scored with their California surfer style music and seamless, youthful harmonies in hits including “California Girls,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Good Vibrations,” “God Only Knows,” “Do It Again,” “Sail On, Sailor,” “Surf’s Up,” “Sloop John B,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “I Get Around.”
The Beach Boys’ recent appearance on the 2012 Grammys was the first time in two decades that the surviving members of the Beach Boys had played together. Sounding quite good, original members Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine were performed on stage with later members Bruce Johnston and David Marks. (Wilson’s brothers, Dennis Wilson and Carl Wilson, died in 1983 and 1998 respectively.) The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
