Toronto’s National Home Show runs from March 16-25, 2012 at the Direct Energy Centre, just as many of us are enjoying summer-like weather and thinking of the repairs and improvements we would like to make to our homes. You’ll find home-related exhibitors and numerous celebrity guest speakers discussing topics such as appliances, home design, lighting, kitchen and bath renovations, gardening, outdoors, recreation and health, as well as be able to connect with construction, renovation and floor contractors. This year, admission to the National Home Show will give you same day admission to Canada Blooms, the flower and garden show also hosted at the Direct Energy Centre.
Visit the Dream Home designed by Michael Upshall of PROBUILT to see the latest in sustainable building techniques and green design and eco-friendly features. This house has a green roof, smart security, home automation and generates it own energy from renewable resources.
Each day on the Unilock Celebrity Stages, guest speakers including Bryan Baeumler of HGTV’s Leave it to Bryan and House of Bryan, Jim Caruk of HGTV’s Builder Boss, Janette Ewen, Jane Lockhart, Jackie Morra and Yanic Simard will discuss topics such as DIY building projects, home styling, how to live in a small space, decorating tips, yard-sale shopping, design trends for 2012 and accessibility. In addition, former Canadian wrestler Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hard will discuss his experiences with stroke recovery. Byan Baeumler will be available for an autograph session on Sat., March 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Toronto Star booth 5251.
