Mayor Rob Ford is asking all Toronto residents to consider participating in Mayor Rob Ford’s Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Whether you are for or against some of the recent proposals and policy-making at Toronto City Hall, there is one thing all Torontonians probably agree on: We love having a clean city!
In order to participate, you need to gather a group of family or friends, choose a clean-up location, then register for the Community Clean Up Day online by Wednesday, April 18, 2012. You can pick up free GLAD® garbage bags at Toronto Community Centres, Security Desks at Civic Centres and at the following Works Transfer Stations:
- Commissioners Transfer Station, 400 Commissioners St., Tues. to Fri. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Disco Transfer Station, 120 Disco Rd., Tues. to Fri. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Ingram Transfer Station, 50 Ingram Dr., Tues. to Fri. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Scarborough Transfer Station, 1 Transfer Place, Tues. to Fri. from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sat. from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In the event of rain, the Community Clean-Up Day will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012. The City of Toronto is asking that groups finish litter pick-up by 2 p.m. on Sunday since City crews will be picking up the litter at that time. Thank you to all volunteers for beautifying our city for the spring and summer season!
