The Joe Carter Classic returns to Eagles Nest Golf Course in Maple, Ontario on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 for its third annual golf tournament to benefit the Children’s Aid Foundation. Returning celebrities include many elite athletes such as Charles Barkley, Kelly Gruber, Julius ‘Dr. J’ Erving, Gordie Howe, Ray Bourque, Jamaal Magloire, George Bell, Dave Stewart, Devon White, Fred McGriff and Cito Gaston. They will be joined in 2012 by Doug Gilmour, Lennox Lewis, Ian Leggatt, Mitch ‘Wild Thing’ Williams and Anthony Anderson.

Participants in the charity golf tournament will enjoy 18 holes of golf in scramble format, breakfast, an open beverage cart, lunch, a cocktail reception, dinner, a welcome gift, a raffle and silent auction, mingling with celebrity guests and golf-course-sponsored contests. Breakfast and registration start at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The Joe Carter Classic VIP After Party will be held at the Windsor Arms Hotel in downtown Toronto.

Carter was a right fielder for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1991-1997, was named to five All-Star teams and won the 1993 World Series for the Blue Jays with his glorious walk-off home run.

The Joe Carter Classic has raised more than $250,000 to help disadvantaged youth and children through the Children’s Aid Foundation.
