If you work or live near the LCBO Head Office on Queens Quay, you may want to drop by for their annual barbeque on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The LCBO and its beverage suppliers will be holding their 21st annual Queens Quay barbeque in support of Camp Oochigeas, a camp for children with childhood cancer.
In addition to purchasing your lunch, you’ll also be able to participate in skill-testing questions and bid on items in a silent auction including vacation packages and electronics.
At 12:45 p.m., LCBO President and CEO Bob Peter will present a cheque for $175,217 to Camp Oochigeas, which is made up of donations from suppliers participating in LCBO in-store tastings, as well as the anticipated proceeds from the 2012 barbeque. In the last 21 years, the LCBO and its suppliers have raised more than $1.2 million in proceeds for Camp Oochigeas.
Camp Oochigeas, located on a private lake near Rosseau, Ontario, provides eight weeks of summer camp for children with cancer, as well as weekend camp during the fall and winter and year-round programming at The Hospital for Sick Children and Ooch Downtown, its camp facility in Toronto. Camp Oochigeas is the only Ontario residential camp that provides on-site chemotherapy and blood transfusions.
