The Latin jazz, fusion funk rock band, Santana, led by Carlos Santana, will return to Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 8 p.m. on a leg of its 2012 tour. Santana will be playing a collection of its hits from the past six decades including from its May 2012 release, Shape Shifter.
Santana played at the famed Woodstock Festival back in the Sixties and then scored hits including “Black Magic Woman,” “Oye Como Va,” “Evil Ways” and “Hope You’re Feeling Better” in the Seventies.
Santana continued as a group throughout the Eighties and Nineties with key personnel changes and underwent renewed popularity with their 1999 release, Supernatural. The album, which won nine Grammy awards, featured the hit, “Smooth,” a collaboration with Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas, “Put Your Lights On” with Everlast and other compositions with Eric Clapton, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Dave Matthews and Eagle-Eye Cherry.
Tickets for Santana at the Molson Amphitheatre are $49.75, $88.50 and $110.25.
