
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will play Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall on Fri., Nov. 30, 2012 at 8 p.m. Franklin recorded numerous chart-topping hits in the 60s and 70s including the feminist anthem, “Respect,” “Chain of Fools,” “A Natural Woman,” “Until You Come Back to Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do)”, “Baby I Love You,” “Think,” “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You),” “Give Him Something He Can Feel,” “Rock Steady,” “Spanish Harlem” and “Day Dreaming.” Franklin scored later hits in the 80s with “Who’s Zoomin’ Who,” “Freeway of Love” and the duet with George Michael, “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me.”
Franklin has won 18 Grammy Awards throughout her career and performed at the inaugurations of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.
Tickets for Aretha Franklin at Roy Thomson Hall go on sale on Mon., Aug. 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. and range from $59.50 to $199.50.
