Alt rock group The Killers will perform at Toronto’s Sound Academy on Sat., Sept. 22, 2012 at 9 p.m. The Killers made a splash on the Indie scene in 2004 with the release of their CD, Hot Fuss, which spawned the singles “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me,” “All These Things That I’ve Done” and “Smile Like You Mean It.”

In 2006, the band released Sam’s Town, whose hits included “When You Were Young,” “Bones,” “Read My Mind” and “For Reasons Unknown” and followed the CD up with “Day & Age” in 2008. The Killers’ next CD, Battle Born, will be released Sept. 18, 2012. The first single from the CD, “Runaways,” was released a few weeks ago.

Tickets, which are general admission, are $69.50. American Express Front of the Line presale tickets for The Killers at the Sound Academy go on sale Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10 a.m.

The Sound Academy is at 11 Polson Pier,  west of Cherry Street.
