If you want to avoid the traditional New Year’s Eve party at a Toronto club or bar and usher in 2014 in fit form, you still have time to register for the Toronto Midnite New Year’s Eve Run taking place Tues., Dec. 31, 2013 in Liberty Village. The 5 km run will begin at midnight on New Year’s Eve 2013 on East Liberty Street and will wind through Liberty Village along roads, paths and laneways. After the run, participants are invited to attend a post-race party to celebrate the New Year. If you’re not a seasoned runner, you can still participate by walking the 5 km course. You’ll be able to enjoy fireworks throughout the course.
Gifts will be awarded for the top male and female master, top three male and female finishers, best female and male costumed runners and the top fundraiser.
Tickets for the run and party are $95; a party ticket only is $45. Race participants will receive a $30 swag bag, runner’s gloves, one beer, one glass of champagne, a finisher’s medal and post-race hot food. Register online. Please bring cans and dry goods for the Fort York Food Bank.
