
March Break is around the corner (this year, March Break is March 11-15, 2013) and while Toronto students are already looking forward to the holiday, many Toronto parents are scrambling to find March Break camps for their kids. Toronto FC March Break Camps
Your child will improve her receiving, passing and shooting skills at the Toronto FC March Break Camp at the KIA Training Ground at Downsview Park from March 11-15, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This soccer camp offers Elite, Recreational and Girls March Break camps. Early drop-offs and late pick-ups an hour before and after camp hours are available. Each camp is $500 plus HST. The deadline to register is Sun., March 10, 2013. Contact ttieu@torontofc.ca
March Break Drama Camp in Toronto
If your child is bursting with artistic creative energy, he may want to consider signing up for Artscape’s March Break Drama Camp at Artscape Wychwood Barns at 601 Christie Street. Running from March 11-15, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the camp offers kids the opportunity to engage in drama, creative movement, music and crafts with a special presentation taking place on Friday for families. Classes for ages 4-5 are 9 a.m. to noon or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with camp during the morning and fun extended care during the afternoon. Classes for ages 6-8 are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aftercare is available until 5 p.m. for an additional cost. Drama camp is $170 per half day camp and $275 per full day camp. March Break Cooking Camp Toronto
The Chef Upstairs at 516 Mount Pleasant Road is offering a March Break Cooking Camp for kids aged 5 to 14 from March 11-15, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Classes will be 100% nut and peanut free. The week includes an introduction to cooking and baking; learning to make tacos and nachos; cupcakes, cookies and cakes; Italian food including pasta and pizza and an Iron Chef competition on the final day. Kids will start each day making a fun breakfast smoothie and then shop for the ingredients for their dishes. The Chef Upstairs March Break Cooking Camp is $595 plus HST. March Break Circus Camp in Toronto
Centre of Gravity at 1300 Gerrard St. E. and 213 Sterling Rd. is offering a March Break Circus Camp for boys and girls 5 and up. Kids will learn juggling basics, tumbling, stilt walking, aerial acrobatics and clowning. Additional activities include crafts and lunch-time movies. Camp hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended daycare hours available. Centre of Gravity Circus Camp is $295 plus HST, which includes a circus t-shirt. Call 416-938-6030.
March Break Camps at U of T
The University of Toronto is offering several March Break Camps for 2013. All camps include free supervision from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Extended care is available on a limited basis from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at a cost of $25 plus HST. Campers must bring their own lunch:
- Golf Camp – Offered to boys and girls ages 8-15, U of T’s March Break Golf Camp at Varsity Centre provides beginner and advanced golfers with improved fitness, golf skills and knowledge. Taught by Angus Glen golf professionals, the camp includes three hours of golf and multisport activities each day. There is a six-to-one ratio of golfers to instructors. Participants should bring their own golf clubs; however, there are a limited number of clubs to borrow. Cost is $360.
- Mini University – Leadership 1 – Youth in Grades 7 and 8 will participate in seminars on teamwork, professionalism, communication, goal setting and identity at U of T’s Athletic Centre to develop personal leadership. Campers will also participate in daily physical activities and fun activities. Cost is $255.
- Gymnastics Camp – U of T’s March Break Gymnastics Camp for boys and girls ages 4 – 12 will teach tumbling, swinging, balancing and springing skills to build children’s confidence in gymnastics. Taught by NCCP-certified coaches, the camp will also offer arts and crafts, games and an outdoor activity at lunch. Campers ages 6+ will participate in recreational swimming on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Cost is $300.
- Multisport – U of T’s Multisport March Break Camp develops skills for children ages 6 – 7 and 8 – 11 in soccer, basketball and volleyball and cooperative games, occasional swimming, as well as skating at Varsity Arena twice a week. (Campers must bring their own skates and helmets.) Campers must wear weather-appropriate clothing for some outdoor activities. Cost is $255.
