Andrew Pyper is having a launch party at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 7 p.m. and you’re invited. Pyper will be reading from his soon-to-be-released novel, The Demonologist, and will be interviewed by The Globe and Mail‘s Russell Smith. The event will be hosted by Becky Toyne and admission is free.

I loved Pyper’s novel, The Killing Circle, a New York Times Best Crime Novel of the Year. The page-turner is notable not only for its use of metafictional techniques through the focus on the eccentric members of a writing circle, but for the lucid detail of familiar Toronto streets especially in the area around the University of Toronto. (Pyper graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.)

Part of the Authors at Harbourfront Centre series, the event will certainly spark discussion about trends in the thriller genre and the existence of the supernatural.
