Fan Expo Canada, Canada’s largest fan convention, is expanding to include Fan Expo Sports at its annual convention from August 22 to 25, 2013 where fans will be able to meet sports stars including Bobby Orr, Joe Sakic, Martin Brodeur, Gordie Howe, Joe Montana, Hulk Hogan and jockey Ron Turcotte. Fans of both pop culture and sports will be able to unite at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto where the event will take place.
“Sports are as much a part of pop culture as comics or science fiction,” says Steve Menzie, President of Hobby Star Marketing Inc. “There are many similarities in the celebrity experience, with everything from sports collectibles to equally devoted fans. We are creating an event that unites fans of entertainment — whether sporting or cultural. It’s a natural fit and will offer a winning combination for all Fan Expo fans.”
Fans will be able to:
- Attend celebrity photo and autograph sessions
- Listen to their favourite athletes speaking on panels with Q&As sessions with the fans
- Listen to free seminars
- Shop for sporting memorabilia among 900 retailers, exhibitors and artists in 70,000 square feet of space.
