If you see a flurry of, um, parts, flying by you in downtown Toronto on Saturday, June 15, 2013, no, it’s not the Pride Parade: it’s the World Naked Bike Ride, an annual global event, taking place in Toronto and more than 70 cities worldwide. This free, family friendly event encourages riders to ride as bare as possible. The ride is the largest protest against oil dependency.
Participants in the Toronto Naked Bike Ride are asked to meet at 12 noon at Coronation Park at Bathurst Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West for body painting and bike decorating. Participants can bring food to share with others. The ride begins at 1 p.m., travels along downtown Toronto streets and wraps up before 3 p.m. The event is free. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen.
