Björk, the Icelandic indie singer whose music can best be described as a mix between alternative rock and electronic dance will perform at Ontario Place’s Echo Beach in Toronto on Monday, July 16, 2013. Death Grips and Mykki Blanco open for Bjork, who has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, one Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards
I’m embarrassed to admit that the first time I paid any attention to Björk (other than her swan dress appearance at the 2001 Academy Awards) was when I heard the first eight bars of “Human Behaviour” closing out an episode of the Gilmore Girls. I was immediately captivated by the haunting beat amidst minor chord progressions and realized the extent of the singer-songwriter’s talent.
Tickets for Björk at Echo Beach are $81.50. Doors open for the all ages show at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
