Molière’s The Misanthrope has been called one of the world’s funniest comedies. Here’s your chance to see the 17th century comedy of manners, which is being performed by the Guild Festival Theatre at the Scarborough Bluffs in Toronto’s east end from July 18 to August 11, 2013.

Now in its third season, the Guild Festival Theatre features an impressive open-air Greek Stage at the Guild Gardens. This year’s production of The Misanthrope is directed by Sten Eirik and stars Bruce Beaton as Alceste, who pursues Célimène, played by Sochi Fried.
