You might want any excuse you can get to head over to the stunning Evergreen Brick Works and next weekend, you will have a great one. The Wild Blueberry Festival takes place on Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is the time to enjoy wild blueberries, which are much sweeter than regular blueberries and are harvested in mid-to-late-August. You’ll be able to try different dishes made with wild blueberries from guest vendors at the Sunday Marché.

Some of Toronto’s top bakers will compete in the annual Wild Blueberry Pie Bake-Off and you may be asked to judge the results. Other activities during the festival include a Blueberry Beer & Wine Garden, a blueberry gardening workshop and live music performances in Chimney Court. You’ll also be able to shop for artisanal crafts.

The Evergreen Brick Works is at 550 Bayview Avenue (at Pottery Road), 416-596-1495
