You won’t have to go far to enjoy a number of holiday-themed events in downtown Toronto. The Winter Magic Festival presented by the Downtown Yonge BIA in November 2014, features events including the Ice, Wine and Dine, an outdoor food and wine festival on Elm St.; a Christmas tree lighting ceremony; Kidzfest and the Window Wonderland window display.

Ice, Wine and Dine on Elm Street

Toronto’s most charming street, Elm Street, will host Ice, Wine and Dine on Sat., Nov. 22, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment, holiday cocktails and festive food including a sampler menu from Elm Street restaurants and festive drinks at the Ice Lounge. For example, Adega Restaurant will be offering a $5 shrimp cake, the Duke of Somerset will be selling mini chili cheesedogs for $5 and Lucullus Bakery will have strawberry meringues for $3. Proceeds from the Ice Lounge will be donated to the Downtown Yonge BIA’s charity partner, Raising the Roof, dedicated to finding solutions for homelessness.

Illuminite at Yonge Dundas Square

Illuminite is the first event of the holiday season on Sat., Nov 15, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Yonge Dundas Square. Enjoy entertainment including technology and artistic performance and technology, including Canadian and international talents. Witness the lighting of the Christmas tree with 52,000 LED and other light installations in the Downtown Yonge BIA. Free.

Kidzfest at Yonge-Dundas Square

Kidzfest takes place at Yonge-Dundas Square on Sat., Nov. 29. 2014 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a day of free fun for kids including stage entertainment, rides, activities and face painting. Kids will enjoy appearances by The Octonauts, Frozen Ice Queen and Princess, and Peter Pan and friends. Creativity will flow at the crafts area and Play-Doh Play Centre. Free admission.

Window Wonderland

See holiday windows prepared by Ryerson Retail Management students and business partners from Nov. 15, 2014 onwards throughout Downtown Yonge BIA. The window displays will be revealed to the public on November 15.
