Meet Canada Reads Finalists at Toronto Reference Library

The Canada Reads debates will take place on CBC from March 3-6, 2014 on CBC Radio and CBC-TV. If you want to get a chance to meet the finalists and their champions, you can book free tickets for Toronto Celebrates Canada Reads at the Toronto Reference Library’s Bram and Bluma Appel Salon on Wed., Feb. 12, 2014, 7 p.m.

The nominated authors and their champions for Canada Reads 2014 include:

  • Margaret Atwood, The Year of the Flood (champion Stephen Lewis)
  • Joseph Boyden, The Orenda (champion Wab Kinew)
  • Esi Edugyan, Half-Blood Blues (champion Donovan Bailey)
  • Rawi Hage, Cockroach (champion Samantha Bee)
  • Kathleen Winter, Annabel (champion Sarah Gadon)

Some of the finalists and champions will be appearing at the Toronto Reference Library event. You can book two free tickets online as of January 15, 2014. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a cash bar reception and the program begins at 7 p.m. If you do not claim your free tickets ten minutes before the beginning of the program, the tickets will be released to standby customers so be sure to get there early.
