With Toronto facing frigid temperatures, the Travel Expo, hosted by Flight Centre, can’t get here soon enough. The free expo takes place on Saturday, January 18, 2013 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and will feature exclusive deals, vacation savings, travel experts and travel presentations.

If you’re wondering where Canadians are headed this winter, Allison Wallace, Flight Centre Canada’s Media and Communications Manager, says “The top three travel destinations for Canadians looking for a winter escape are Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. For Canadians living out west, Hawaii would be in the top three given its proximity.”
Find out about your vacation destination by attending 20-minute travel presentations at the Travel Expo including:
- The New Club Med
- Visit Japan Now
- Mexico Luxury All-Inclusive Resorts
- The only way to experience the Canadian Rockies and Whistler
- Exploring Europe by train
- Puerto Rico – The All-Star Island
- Authentic Polynesia Experience

If you book your vacation at the Travel Expo, you will be entered into a draw to win your vacation for free.
As far as the next vacation hot spot,Wallace notes that “the South Pacific including Fiji and Cook Islands…appeals largely to the people that have ‘been there done that’ in terms of Mexico and the Dominican Republic and are looking for something different and secluded. It’s getting easier to get to the South Pacific with direct flights from Los Angeles, but still requires more than a week to make it worthwhile.
“In terms of value, Mexico really does hold the best value given the selection of different resort towns to visit and the availability of all-inclusives. Lots of flights, lots of diversity depending on whether you want to hit the beach, visit ruins, go to a major city, etc.,” says Wallace.
The Travel Expo takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, Hall C on Saturday, January 18, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
