There are two obvious ways to deal with this never-ending Toronto winter: take off for a balmy island down south or stay and embrace the winter. If you opt for the latter choice, you may want to check out a special March Break celebration at Trinity Bellwoods Outdoor Rink on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. And yes, the weather is going to be nice!
Hosted by Scotiabank and Canadian Tire, the afternoon event will feature an old-fashioned skating party with hot chocolate, free giveaways and a chance to skate with former Toronto Maple Leafs’ captain Darryl Sittler. Sittler’s NHL record of most points scored in a game (10 points from 6 goals and 4 assists) still stands.
Scotiabank and Canadian Tire came to the City of Toronto’s assistance by providing funding to keep 11 municipal outdoor skating rinks open during March Break this year.
Since Monday March 10, 2014 families have enjoyed skating, hot chocolate and free giveaways at ice rinks across the City of Toronto, compliments of Scotiabank and Canadian Tire.
Trinity Bellwoods Park is located at 790 Queen Street West in Toronto.
