Torontonicity was invited to attend the media breakfast and preview of the One of a Kind Spring Craft Show and Sale 2014, which is currently on at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place until March 30, 2014. Prepared by Chef David Neinstein of Barque Smokehouse, we enjoyed breakfast dishes including a really yummy French Toast with brie and apple.

Also on the breakfast menu were smoked bacon; smoked duck and chevre pancakes; poached eggs and fresh fruit.

I definitely recommend dropping by Barque Smokehouse on Roncesvalles for a weekend brunch. Thank goodness for the substantial breakfast, which was needed to fuel a four-hour-plus trek among the 450 vendors.

This pewter necklace from Anne-Marie Chagnon at Booth K16 really stood out. Of course choker-style necklaces have been seeing renewed popularity, but the pearl appliques elevated this necklace from everyday to extraordinary.

Are your kids picky eaters? I bet they would love eating off of one of these whimsical plates from Jacqueline Poirier Custom Ceramic Art at Booth A38. Jacqueline Poirier is a new vendor at the One of a Kind Show and Sale.

Need a casual dress for summer? This denim dress from Revive at Booth I40 will take you many places during your leisure time. Just throw it on with some dangly earrings, bangles and a pair of neutral wedge sandals and you’re ready to go.

I sampled the Meditteranean oil from Rustichella and was advised this gourmet oil would be great as a marinade for chicken or simply tossed with baby potatoes. What a great housewarming gift this would make.

Being a fan of lavender and plum, I was immediately attracted to this necklace from glamjulz at Booth A54. Celebrities such as Elisha Cuthbert, Fergie, Paris Hilton, Lily Allen, Tori Spelling, Amy Lee have all been spotted wearing glamjulz.

Aren’t these leather-bound journals from My Magic Lantern cute? I love the journal whose cat seems to be keeping its owner’s secret scribblings under wraps. Find these at Booth D37.

I love the decorating philosophy of bringing the outdoors inside so I am a huge fan of these hand-carved wood bowls from Woodturnings. Check these and other hand-carved wood products out at Kjell Margret Orrling Woodturnings at Booth I49.

If your kids don’t enjoy wearing their bike helmets, you might want to consider getting them a Tail Wags Helmet Cover. These fun helmet covers come in warrior, fish and even Spiderman-like styles and they fit adult heads too. Find them at Booth J36.

DaLish Cosmetics at Booth K41 not only have great packaging, but they are made without animal products. The matte lipsticks, which come in five shades, will make you look like one of the female leads in Mad Men. Founder Melanie Cruikshank believes that when women put on lipstick, they want it to show, not disappear after an hour and with matte lipsticks, they stay on all day. Being addicted to lip glosses, I checked out the selection from DaLish and found that their texture was not too translucent, ensuring fairly deep colours when applied to lips.

I say ‘yes’ to this dress for its great lines and slimming design, which leads the eye upwards. Sporting the current below-the-knee length, this dress is from Vespertine at Booth D54.

How gorgeous are these hammered, Sterling silver bracelets from Marina Babic Jewellery? Stunning for their simplicity, these classic-meets-modern cuffs will adorn your wrists for years to come. See them at Booth I25.
