The Redpath Waterfront Festival takes place in Toronto from June 20-22, 2014. You’ll get free admission to waterfront activities all the way from Spadina Avenue to Sherbourne Street.
The festival is hosting the 2014 Flyboard North American Championships. Flyboarding involves using a board that shoots out high-pressurized water from a personal water craft. Flyboard pilots from around the world will compete, demonstrating double back flips, height and dolphin dives. You will be able to watch the competition from the public areas at John Quay, at the foot of York Street. You’ll also be able to view flyboarding at the Beer/Wine Garden where admission is $10 and children under ten are free.

The Qualifying Round for the Flyboard North American Championships will be held Friday, June 20, 2014, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., followed on Saturday, June 21, by Rounds 2 and 3 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Finals will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Super Hero Costume Show and awards take place on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
There are lots of activities for your children to enjoy at the Kids Zone.
- They can visit the Voyageur Encampment and enjoy crafts and games, as well as experience a guided voyageur canoe ride in the harbour. For schedules and fees, visit Canoe Toronto.
- Kids can play at the AdventureMania Inflatables. Single play on one inflatable is $3 per ticket, with one ticket per ride. All day wristbands for unlimited play for all four rides are $12 each day, cash only.
- Meet the crew of the Toronto Brigantine STV Pathfinder and TS Playfair vessels. Hunt for buried treasure on the beach, tour the ships and learn how to tie knots. Daily sails will be available for individuals 12 years and older. The cost is $20 for adults, $15 for 12-18 years of age, cash only.
- Get your photo taken with the giant inflatable beaver and Parks Canada iconic landscapes and meet ‘Parka’ the mascot. Your kids can get a tattoo at the airbrush tattoo parlour.
Watch the 2014 DockDogs World Qualifying Championships, presented by the Toronto Port Authority. Visitors can bring their dogs to the Festival and witness dogs competing for distance jumping, height and swim retrieving at Sherbourne Common South. The dock jumping and diving sport is open to dogs of all sizes and breeds who are a minimum of six months old. To register a dog as a competitor, visit DockDogs.com. You can also test your dog’s skills on the dock after the competition for only $15 per dog. Onsite registration only; cash and credit cards accepted.
The Toronto Wine & Spirit Festival, a partner of the Redpath Waterfront Festival, will take place at Sugar Beach. Enjoy wine, spirits and craft beer. Advance tickets are $21.50 and $30 at the door and include a Wine & Spirits Festival wristband, a sampling cup and five sampling vouchers.
The Redpath Waterfront Festival will also be hosting the Sweetness Pride Beach Party, a World Pride event, on Sunday June 22, 2014 starting at 2 p.m. Enjoy the sand and a beach bar, food and musical performances from Sara London, BPM Krew and Lexi Tellings.
