I was recently provided with samples from the SoapStones, a naturally hand-crafted skin care line from Muskoka, Ontario. SoapStone products are made in small batches right in the store, which is located at 54 Main Street East in Huntsville. Considering that I love the smell of pines and cedars whenever I am vacationing up north, I requested a sample of the Cedar & Saffron Essential Spray to bring the essence of Muskoka back home and was generously provided with other samples in the same scent.

As I’ve gotten older, I have found that I cannot tolerate commercial room sprays: the synthetic ingredients in many of them irritate my throat. Thus, I love SoapStones’ Essential Spray in Cedar & Saffron, $12, which is made from simple ingredients: distilled water and fragrance or essential oil. The Cedar & Saffron Essential Spray leaves a delicate fragrance of cedar in the room without being overpowering. SoapStones Essential Spray also comes in Pumpkin Spice & Lavender, Eucalyptus, Lavender & Rosemary, Mandarin Orange, Peppermint and Pink Sugar.

SoapStones Hand & Body Lotion in Cedar & Saffron, $16 (250 ml) is light and did not leave a greasy residue. The lotion absorbs well into the skin. It works just as well on hands as it does as a body lotion. Hand & Body Lotion ingredients include Distilled Water, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Stearic Acid, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Roman Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Extract, silk Amino Acid, Hydrolized Oat Protein, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Optiphen (less than 1%), and Essential or Fragrance Oil.
I liked the Whole Body Wash in Cedar & Safron, $15 (250 ml) because it left my skin feeling smooth for several hours after my shower. I also like the fact that the Whole Body Wash contains no harmful ingredients such as Parabens, DEA (Diethanolamine) or PEG (Polyethylene Glycol). The Whole Body Wash comes in Lavender & Rosemary, Mandarin Orange, Muskoka Cranberry, Pink Sugar, White Tea and Ginger, Energy and Fragrance Free.

I tried the SoapStones Olive Oil Hand Soap in Cedar & Saffron, $15 (250 ml) and found that it left my hands feeling so soft that I don’t think I will need to use hand lotion because the olive oil in the soap is so moisturizing. The cap dispenses a small amount of foam soap, which goes a long way. You can get the Olive Oil Hand Soap in Energy, Lavender & Rosemary, Muskoka Cranberry, Muskoka Mist, Pink Sugar, White Linen, White Tea & Ginger and Fragrance Free.
The Olive Oil Hand Soap ingredients include Deionized Water, Decyl Glucoside, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Olivate (Olive Esters), Sodium Chloride, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (Chamomile), Glycerine, Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol (Optiphen®) and Essential or Fragrance Oil.

If you love candles as I do, but don’t want to burn toxins in your space, you will like SoapStones Pure Soy Candle, $10, which is made with Eco-soy wax and Essential Oil or Fragrance Oil. The Pure Soy Candle in Cedar & Saffron emitted a very light scent of cedar, again not overpowering. Pure Soy Candles are also made in the following scents: Algonquin Morning, Energy, Lavender & Rosemary, Mandarin Orange, Muskoka Cranberry, Muskoka Mist, Pink Sugar, White Tea & Ginger and Fragrance Free.
You can order SoapStones Skin Care products online or visit their store if you’re up in Muskoka at 54 Main Street East in Huntsville. Contact them at 705-224-SOAP (7627) or email them at info@soapstones.ca
Very interesting set of products for the skin. I am interested in it.
Those sound like awesome products. I will have to check it out.
I love checking out new-to-me skin and hair products. Thanks for another introduction to a brand I haven’t heard of!
Oh wow, I really want to try some of these products. They seem so much better for you than run-of-the-mill stuff you get at the convenience store. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!

I love products that are made in small shops. I feel that there is more love put into their products, and SoapStones is a company I would like to shop at. There products are just what I am looking for. Thank you so much for this wonderful review.
I have recently gone on an all natural journey, so this is right up my alley
I’ve heard that soy candles are definitely the way to go, this looks like a great brand.
I just love olive oil soaps.
This one looks real good !
Seeing this is trouble for me…I am so addicted to these kinds of products.
This line sounds wonderful. I love natural skin care.
These sound like great products! What a fun review when you actually love the merch
Nice to know that they offer a lot of scents. At first I thought it was a new kind of soap, soap in a bottle? Why not! 😛 Good to know it’s made from natural materials too.
I am a big fan of natural products and try to avoid anything with chemicals as much as possible. I use room sprays all the time, spraying them on the bed sheets and in my closet, I love getting into bed at night with the smell of lavender or cedar.
My sensitive skin can’t tolerate synthetic ingredients, thus I only use natural and organic products. Therefore, I’ll definitely have to check this brand out!
Wow these look amazing, I’d love to try them!
I love anything that is all natural. The candle sounds awesome.
I have never heard of this brand before. I would love to try that body wash!
I’ve never heard of this brand before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
I love the smell of cedar.
So do I. It reminds me of being at the cottage! Lori
The Olive Oil hand soap makes your hands feel super soft. I don’t need to use hand lotion. Cheers, Lori
So am I, Lori. I’m replacing my cosmetics as well with natural cosmetics. Cheers, Lori
I really like that they have a fragrance free option. Sometimes smelling like nothing is refreshing 😉
I agree, Grace. There are many people who cannot tolerate any scents so it’s great they offer fragrance free products! Lori
How was the Cedar and Saffron scent? We are a scent free family so scents can often be overpowering. I didn’t see you comment on the scent in your review. Did the smell linger? Or did it dissipate quickly?
Hi Andrea, The scent is not overpowering at all; it’s quite subtle. It does linger, but I am okay with that since it’s not strong. Cheers, Lori
this looks like a great line, and buying local is a plus. I’ll have to try it out!
