I was invited to attend one of my favourite holiday events, the One of a Kind Christmas Show in Toronto. The seasonal sale opened on Thursday, November 27, 2014 and runs to December 7, 2014. I dropped by for the media breakfast at 9 a.m. We were treated to a well-balanced breakfast catered by Chef Rob Rossi of Bestellen Restaurant that included fresh blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, scones and cream, fried eggs and sausage and fried kale with potato pancakes. The meal was delicious and perfect fuel to see the more than 800 vendors at the show.

Here are some of my favourites from the 2014 One of a Kind Christmas Show in Toronto.

These women’s sheepskin slippers, $80, from Garneau are super stylish, cozy and comfortable. I love the eye-popping colours. The slippers are also available in men’s and children’s.

This ‘Dalia’ dress from Montreal’s Voyou, $115, caught my eye immediately due to its cheerfulness and versatility. Pair it with a soft grey jacket for the office and wear it alone after hours.

These handcrafted goat’s milk soaps, $4, from Liv Simple Farms feature special holiday scents for stocking stuffers. The soaps are made from essential oils including Lavender and Lime, Cinnamon Bark, Anise Star, Lemon, Vanilla, Sweet Orange, Pink Grapefruit, Pine Scotch, Peppermint, Wintergreen and Clove. Other products in the line include goat’s milk lotion, $8, and linen and room spray, $6.

The hockey fans young and old will enjoy this hockey stick wall hook set. The owner of Homeworks Etc. Designs told me this is one of her best-selling products. The hockey stick wall hook set is $50 and $75 with the Toronto Maple Leafs flag. If you’re a Habs fan, they will make you a custom Montreal Canadiens flag.

Owner Josee Huard of Northern Smittens handcrafts these mittens, $45, from repurposed wool sweaters so that each pair is truly one of a kind. The mittens are lined with new polar fleece for added warmth and they are really comfortable.

Don’t forget to drop by the Gourmet Food section at the One of a Kind Christmas Show. I bought some coconut cashews, $8, from Bruce County Nut and Fudge. They also sell Caramel Glazed Pecans, Chipotle Pumpkin Seeds with Dried Cranberries and Cinnamon Sunflower Seed Blend, as well as Gourmet Carmel Apples, $12.

Looking for unique holiday cards? These adorable Christmas cards from Made in Brockton Village, $5, feature original designs.

The fruity scent of Wild Plum Sugar Scrub from Whipped Cosmetics, $15, is invigorating and makes another great choice for a stocking stuffer.

The colourful women’s headbands from New York City’s Volang, $40-$50, are reasonably priced considering each one is original and handmade. Aren’t they cute? Below is my favourite headband from Volang.

That breakfast looks delicious! So does the Wild Plum Sugar scrub – too bad it isn’t edible. I love the Northern Smittens, too. What a great idea to repurpose old sweaters to truly make your mittens one of a kind. I bet they’re super warm since they’re lined with fleece. Wearing fleece in the winter is a must for me in the winter.
