Right about now, many of us are exhausted from rushing around finishing Christmas shopping and getting ready for holiday entertaining. So it was quite timely that I received a complimentary sample of Popcorn Indiana Movie Theater Popcorn. It gave me the perfect opportunity to take a breather from holiday activities and try it while watching TV. I was eager to sample Popcorn Indiana Movie Theater popcorn since it seemed like a healthier snack because it contains no artificial flavours, trans fats or preservatives.

Popcorn Indiana Movie Theater Popcorn contains canola or sunflower oil, clarified butter and salt. It is also made with non GMO popcorn seed; however all popcorn is non GMO. Popcorn that you buy at the movies is usually pre-popped in trans fat oils and sits for a while under heat lights. As a result, it requires preservatives and typically, artificial butter flavouring is added instead of butter. It’s easy to see that Popcorn Indiana’s Movie Theater Popcorn is a healthier choice than popcorn you buy at the theatre.
Since Popcorn Indiana Movie Theater Popcorn is already popped, all you have to do is place the popcorn still in the bag in the microwave for about one minute. Then it’s ready to be enjoyed. And yes, I enjoyed it. It really does taste like the popcorn you buy at movie theatres, only better. My only reservation is there is salt added, which amounts to about 310 mg for a 50g serving (3 1/2 cups of popcorn). That isn’t a huge amount of salt, but I don’t usually salt my popcorn so it’s more than I would normally have. By contrast, Orville Redenbacher’s Smart Pop popcorn contains 290 mg for 6 1/2 cups of popped corn.
Popcorn Indiana popcorn is available at Loblaws, Sobeys, Metro, Whole Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart. I will definitely pick up a package the next time I visit one of these stores. Popcorn Indiana Movie Theater Popcorn truly is the best popcorn I’ve ever tasted.
