Recently, I was invited to visit the newest addition to Richtree’s natural market at the Eaton Centre, The Taco Bus, to sample their tacos and burritos. Richtree Natural Market Restaurant hasĀ converted a 1974 VW microbus into a taco stand at their Toronto Eaton Centre location entrance.
Let me just say these were by far the most authentic tacos I have had since I vacationed in Mexico earlier this year.

My guest and I sampled every taco, as well as their chicken burrito and I would absolutely return again and again. Their prices were extremely reasonable too, at only $3.69 per taco or three for $9.99 and with burritos at $9.99 each, you can’t go wrong.

Chef Andre Walker (formerly of Pusateriās Fine Foods, Tundra Restaurant and Bar and El Catrin) has created tacos to suit all tastes including
- Baja Fish Taco features crispy beer-batter-fried cod with Chipotle lime dressing, coleslaw and cilantro;
- Chipotle Braised Res (beef) Salsa Verde Taco with pickled onions, cilantro and cotija (cheese);
- Pollo Chilorio and Black Bean Puree Taco with xni pec, cilantro, green onion and cotija;
- Hearts of Palm with Guacamole Taco features Gusjillo hearts of palm with guacamole, Chipotle mayo, lettuce, pickled onions, cilantro and cotija. This is a vegetarian option.
My favourite taco is the Chipotle Braised Res Salsa verde taco while my second favourite is the Hearts of Palm taco.
The Richtree Taco Bus also sells imported Jarritos, which are traditional Mexican sodas in both Lime and Pineapple flavours.
