The Word On The Street Toronto, Toronto’s beloved book and magazine festival, is relocating for its 26th season to Harbourfront Centre on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Featuring all-Canadian talent, this year’s festival will offer visitors the opportunity to book a 60-minute Author Cruise with bestselling, Canadian authors on the Tall Ship Kajama. Imagine sailing the high seas of Lake Ontario, listening to your favourite author regale you with the offerings of their latest book.

Author Cruises at The Word On The Street
There are four 60-minute Author Cruises, featuring readings and discussion with Andrew Pyper, Sally Christie, Terry Fallis, James Grainger, Susanna Kearsley, Lynn Crosbie, D.J. McIntosh, Sara Taylor, David Nickle and Alexandra Grigorescu.

Tickets for the Author Cruises are $25 for Adults and $10 for Children. The cruises board at 11:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or at an Information Booth at the festival.

Friend an Author
The Friend an Author program returns to The Word On The Street. For $100, you will receive a signed copy of their latest book, and be recognized on stage and in The Word On The Street’s 2016 Festival Program. Participating authors include Patrick deWitt, Kelley Armstrong, Dennis Lee, Neil Pasricha, Susanna Kearsley, Lynn Crosbie, Austin Clarke, Barbara Reid, Kenneth Oppel, Giles Blunt, Ken McGoogan, and others.
Patrick deWitt on the Amazon.ca Bestsellers Stage
Patrick deWitt, author of the Man Booker Prize-nominated The Sisters Brothers, will discuss his latest book, Undermajordomo Minor on the Amazon.ca Bestsellers Stage at Harbourfront Centre Theatre.
TVOKids at The Word On The Street
The TVOKids LIVE! Stage will feature performances by Gisèle and Polkaroo and The Reading Rangers. Other guests include newchoir and The Samba Squad, Opie from Hi Opie!, the stars of Annedroids, the cast of Odd Squad and the host of new TVOKids series Science Max.
The TD Children’s Literature Tent
The TD Children’s Literature Tent will feature authors Barbara Reid, Dennis Lee, Kyo Maclear, Nicola Winstanley, Andrew Larsen and others. CBC will present the shortlist for the 2015 TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award, and readings from the nominated books. Middle-grade fiction authors Frieda Wishinsky, Kevin Sylvester and Kevin Sands.
Free Copy of Mr. Zinger’s Hat
Author Cary Fagan will be offering a free copy of her book, Mr. Zinger’s Hat. The book is this year’s TD Grade One Book Giveaway which will be given to every Canadian grade one student this fall and which is presented by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre at this year’s festival.
