On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, I arrived at the festive Appleton Estate Holiday Cocktail event, held at The Addisons Residence on Wellington Street West. I was greeted warmly by the publicist and given an orchid and a coin from which my fortune would be determined inside? Fun and mysterious.
At the bar, I was asked if I wanted to warm up or cool down! I opted to warm up even though the weather has been absolutely beautiful. I was served a rummy hot toddy-esque beverage called the Apple Cider Cutter Estate Rum – buttery warm rum served with a cinnamon stick.

Jen and Andy are the mixologists of Pig in a Poke Catering . They created the lovely concoctions of the evening and held a presentation giving their reasons behind their selections and detailed demonstration of how to make all of their drinks.
Drinks at Appleton Estate Holiday Cocktails Event

The Jamaican Mule was refreshing with a ginger taste.
I didn’t get a chance to try The Estate Old Fashioned, but it looked delicious.
Appetizers at Appleton Estate Holiday Cocktails Event
The Marinated Chicken with Aioli was my favourite.
The pizza with basil was simple but tasty.
I especially liked the mystic who told me my fortune. She said that the more rum I drank, the less I would care about my future lol!
I had a great time sampling holiday cocktails made with Appleton Estate Rum. I will definitely pick up this rum to have on hand for holiday entertaining.
