Outdoor movies have a long tradition. Some of us used to go to the drive-in movie in the summer when we were kids. What a great way to see a movie in the open air! Now, the tradition has been revived with free outdoor movies in Toronto in summer 2016. Find out where you can see free outdoor movies in Toronto.

Free Flicks at Harbourfront 2016

Enjoy a free movie at Harbourfront in Toronto from Wed., June 22, 2016 to August 31, 2016. The movie schedule is:

  • The Grand Seduction – Wed., July 20, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • The Mighty Quinn with Denzel Washington – Wed., July 27, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • The Last Dragon – Wed., Aug. 3, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • The Good Lie with Reese Witherspoon – Wed., Aug. 10, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • Chef with Jon Favreau – Wed., Aug. 17, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • Sense and Sensibility with Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant – Wed., Aug. 24, 2016, 9 p.m.

Vote online for your choice of Gravity, The King’s Speech or Slumdog Millionaire to be shown on Wed., Aug. 31, 2016.

Movies take place at the Concert Stage at Harbourfront, 235 Queens Quay West.

Under the Stars: Movies in the Park

Enjoy free outdoor movies at Regent Park from Wed., July 13 to Wed., Aug. 24, 2016. Movie schedule is:

  • Jab Me Not (Bollywood) – Wed., July 27, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau – Wed., Aug. 3, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • Patter Pancholi – Wed., Aug. 10, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • Boy – Wed., Aug. 17, 2016, 9 p.m.
  • Purple Rain – Wed., Aug. 24, 2016, 9 p.m.

Pre-movie activities such as music, yoga, DJ workshops, soccer games and dance classes will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Purchase food from Taste of Regent Park food vendors from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Cotton candy, pop and popcorn will be for sale during the movie.

Movies take place at Regent Park (the Big Park) at 620 Dundas Street East. In the event of rain, movies will move indoors at the Daniels Spectrum, 585 Dundas Street East.

Enjoy free outdoor movies in the Beaches, courtesy of The Beach Village BIA on Wednesdays from July 6, 2016 to August 31, 2016 at Kew Gardens, 2075 Queen Street East and Ivan Forrest Gardens, 131 Glen Manor Drive. Free popcorn.
