My dental hygienist has been telling me about the benefits of electric toothbrushes during my recent dentist visits. She says electric toothbrushes do a better job of cleaning your teeth and removing plaque, which causes cavities. So I was very interested in reviewing the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Electric Toothbrush. (Disclosure: I received a complimentary Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Electric Toothbrush for the purposes of this review.)

Sonicare DiamondClean Easy to Use
I found it very easy to get started with the Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush. First the electric toothbrush needs to be charged. To do this, just place the brush head on the toothbrush handle, then place the charger glass in the charger base. Place the toothbrush so that it’s standing in the charger glass and plug the cord that is attached to the charger base into an outlet to charge for 24 hours. The charge indicator on the toothbrush will flash green until the toothbrush is fully charged.

Five Cleaning Modes
The Sonicare DiamondClean has five cleaning modes: Clean, Gum Care, Polish, Sensitive and White. The two minute timer ensures that you brush your teeth for the optimum amount of time. The toothbrush beeps every 30 seconds to let you know when it’s time to move on to the next quadrant in your mouth.
Sonicare DiamondClean Toothbrush Leaves Teeth Feeling Clean
The package states that the DiamondClean toothbrush removes up to 7 times more plaque than a manual toothbrush and improves gum health. I have used the Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush for five days and have noticed that my teeth feel as clean as they would after visiting the dental hygienist. The DiamondClean is definitely removing a lot more plaque than my manual toothbrush. I will find out at my next dental visit whether my gum health has improved.

Sonicare DiamondClean Really Whitens Teeth
The whitening aspect of the Sonicare DiamondClean really appealed to me because my teeth seem to stain easily from fruits and juices. I don’t like false advertising claims so I was a bit skeptical when I read on the package that the Sonicare DiamondClean can whiten teeth in just one week. After using the Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush just one time, my teeth were noticeably whiter. Yes, you read that correctly. No more need to purchase expensive whitening toothpastes or strips that may or may not work.
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Product Features
- Travel: Take the Sonicare DiamondClean with you on vacation because it comes with a USB cord, USB wall plug and a portable charging travel case.
- Charge: Unlike the other models, the Sonicare DiamondClean holds a charge for three weeks.
- Efficient Brush head: The DiamondClean Brush head features diamond-shaped bristles that provide more contact with the surface of the teeth for better cleaning and whitening.
- Style: I received the Sonicare DiamondClean in amethyst-and-chrome, but it also comes in other stylish colours such as in white-and-chrome, black-and-chrome, and pink-and-chrome.

I’m really sold on the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush. It was easy to transition to from a manual toothbrush and the results, including plaque removal and whitening, are superior.
