The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is set to light up Toronto from September 8-18, 2016. Celebrating its 41st year, TIFF welcomes international, A-list celebrities to the red carpet and the city. You might find your favourite at the following pop-up events in Toronto during TIFF.
TIFF at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto
The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto celebrates six years at the Toronto International Film Festival and has created specially themed menus. Enjoy Toronto-inspired cocktails such as the Red Rocket and the Bay Street Bull at celebrity hangouts DEQ Lounge and Ritz Bar. The 6 cocktail will set you back a handsome $600 and features blended scotch whiskey, bitters, fine Italian vermouth, vanilla rooibos syrup, and Remy Martin Louis XIII Grande Champagne.
Michelin-star chef Oliver Glowig has created a 6-course tasting menu at TOCA available during TIFF. Indulge in celeb-worthy dishes including seared Quebec foie gras with raspberry sorbet and pickled red onion; 12-hour braised beef cheek with olive oil mashed potatoes and leeks; and halibut with fava beans, peas, spring onion and artichoke chips.
Throughout TIFF, The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto will also feature a champagne garden, café, candy stations, complimentary make up touch-ups, and a step and repeat board for guests to capture their own special moments at #RCTIFF.
L’Eden Pop Up Patio at d|bar at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto
You have a good chance of rubbing shoulders with the A-listers at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto and Perrier-Jouët Champagne’s pop-up patio, L’Eden, at d|bar from August 18 to September 18, 2016. The outdoor garden themed patio will feature a Bubbles & Bites menu. L’Eden is open from 11 a.m. to close up until September 18, 2016. Availability is first-come, first-serve. Villa Azur Pop-Up at The Spoke Club during TIFF
Villa Azur, the restaurant and lounge with roots in the south of France and South Beach Miami, will have a pop-up location at The Spoke Club (600 King St West) from Thursday, September 8 to Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. The first event at The Spoke Club is the “Thursday Night Dinner Party” with an “ALL WHITE AFFAIR” theme featuring resident DJ Stephan M, welcoming guests dressed in white into a glamorous scene.
On Friday & Saturday, Villa Azur will host luncheons and evening receptions reminiscent of the French Riviera. Special hosts and DJs from both the Canadian and the international scene will be announced. Villa Azur’s Sunday Champagne Brunch takes place on the rooftop of the Spoke Club
Villa Azur’s Executive Chef Erwin Mallet will lead the culinary team in Toronto with a menu that features classic French-Mediterranean courses, as well as dishes inspired by the films of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
