I knew it was time to get a new handbag when I had trouble finding my collection of reward cards in my tiny Coach crossbody. Yes, I was that woman who held you up at the store counter while I would remove a collection of receipts, lipstick, keys, pens and cellphone from my purse to locate that store’s reward card. Then I had an enlightenment! Buy a bigger handbag!

I started looking online at my favourite brands, Michael Kors and Coach. I knew that I wanted a handbag in tan since that neutral colour is so versatile and would be great for my spring, summer and fall wardrobes. But, quite frankly, I didn’t feel like paying $400 for a new handbag at the moment, especially since I still have my Michael Kors Hamilton handbag, with its heavy chains and gold lock staring me down. That was a handbag I invested in a few years ago and is still in good condition. As a result, I just couldn’t justify spending $400 (plus tax) on another costly designer bag.

That’s when I considered Matt and Nat! This Canadian brand has been making vegan handbags since the late 90s. In fact, many celebrities including famously vegan Natalie Portman, Emily Deschanel, Charlize Theron and Olivia Wilde have been spotted sporting the brand. Matt and Nat vegan handbags, although more expensive than other vegan bags, cost a far cry less than designer leather handbags, plus you are making an eco-friendly choice when you buy Matt and Nat vegan handbags. The brand uses no animals in production, as well as sources sustainable materials. Their vegan leather is made from the less harmful PU (polyurethane) wherever possible. Each of the bag’s linings is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles! What a fantastic way to redirect that plastic away from landfills and oceans back into something usable.

  1. I’ve been on a search for a new purse too. I want a black one that is large enough to hang on my shoulder and zips and can be wiped down if something spills on it. I also need it to be fairly large. I’ve looked everywhere. I can’t find it. How hard is it to find a good black purse????????? Lol?

  2. These are all lovely hand bags. I really need a new one and am trying to decide on the way I want the inside of it to function. It’s hard to choose a favorite but I think I might like the first Coach bag the best.

  3. I am sharing this post with one of my daughters. She is a true fashionista, but also staunchly vegan. I’m sure she will find several bags that she can’t live without. Thanks so much for sharing. I’ve excited to take a peek too.
