Roots Canada just opened their first Enhanced Experience store at Yorkdale Shopping Mall on August 23, 2017. The store marks a move towards a more social and inviting retail experience, and introduces the Roots customized leather station! This location marks the first of its kind across Canada, with the next Roots Enhanced Experience store opening up this fall in Vancouver.
The party was kicked off by DJ Skratch Bastid, with guests enjoying delicious drinks and snacks while perusing the latest Roots styles. A whisky cranberry lemonade was being served, and could be paired with beef sliders, classic cheese pizza, or a quinoa bowl featuring black and white sesame, pomegranate seeds, pepitas, and lentils.
If the models weren’t enough, spicy chili shrimp was also available to anyone seeking out a little heat!
The Enhanced Experience store introduces a lounging area for guests to comfortably wait while their friends or family try on clothes. My favourite detail of the new Roots change rooms has to be the timeline found in some of the dressing rooms; they outline major historical events throughout the company’s existence, which started back in 1973 with the opening of their first store.
The shoe section of the Roots store features one of the original machines used to attach soles. Did you know that founders Don Green and Michael Budman started Roots with the Negative Heel design? You can find interesting facts about the company’s origins throughout the new Yorkdale location.
Guests were treated to performances from Daniela Andrade and Ryland James who are both featured in the latest Roots Canada campaign, alongside YouTube stars Daniel Caesar and Jessie Reyez. Andrade serenaded the intimate audience with her angelic vocals.
Ryland James treated everyone to a live performance of his first single “Good To You”.
Canada’s 150th Birthday brought the nice campaign to Roots, recognizing and celebrating the kindness of Canadians!
