Family Day is Monday, February 19, 2018 making it a long weekend to break up this already long winter. If you want to tear yourself away from watching the Winter Olympics, there are a lot of Family Day weekend events in Toronto taking place. Check out these things to do in Toronto during Family Day weekend 2018 below:

Winter Family Games at Casa Loma

Enjoy Family Day Weekend at Casa Loma from February 17 – 19, 2018 for their first Winter Family Games. Participate in fun and interactive sports theme experiences, watch athletic performances, and meet and greet your favorite athletes. Hours for Family Day Weekend at Casa Loma are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are Adult $30, Seniors (65+) $25, Youth (14-17) $20, Children 4-13 $20 and can be purchased online.

Family Day at Evergreen Brick Works

If you are looking for things to do on Family Day weekend in Toronto for both adults and kids, you’ll want to check out Family Day at Evergreen Brick Works, which includes an indoor beer garden at Brewer’s Backyard, and outdoor activities in the Children’s Garden. The Brewer’s Backyard returns to the Young Welcome Centre and BMO Atrium at Evergreen Brick Works with Winter Warmers. Breweries on site include 5 Paddles, Black Oak, Great Lakes Brewery, Shacklands, Junction and Beaus. Enjoy dishes from local food vendors Arepa Republic, Los Vietnamita, Delight Bite and Meltdown Cheesery.

Family Day hours at Evergreen Brick Works are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Evergreen Brick Works is located at 550 Bayview Avenue, 416-596-7670.

Family Day Weekend at Paintlounge

Create a painting as a family at Paintlounge on Family Day Weekend! Family Paint Workshops are geared to families with children 4-12 and are simple enough for everyone to participate. Your family will receive one 24″ × 30″ canvas, all supplies, smocks, and instruction for up to five members per family. Family Day Weekend Family Paint Workshops take place on Sat., Feb. 17, 2018 and Sun., Feb. 18, 2018 at Paintlounge locations at 784 College Street, 1173 Queen Street East and 118 Main Street North in Markham and are two hours. The cost is $52 per family. Additional members over five people are $10 plus HST per person. Taxes and gratuities are extra. Reserve online now as spaces are filling up.

Leslieville Flea at The Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District

The Leslieville Flea will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District. Shop for vintage, salvaged, and up-cycled goods, antiques, furniture, collectibles and work from 50+ vendors.

Family Day at the Lower Ossington Theatre

The Lower Ossington Theatre is an intimate theatre right in the heart of Toronto’s Ossington Village. The theatre is performing two musicals during Family Day weekend including The Wizard of Oz and Cabaret. Performances of The Wizard of Oz during Family Day weekend take place Fri., Feb. 16, 2018 at 7:30 p.m., Sat., Feb. 17, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Feb. 18, 2018 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Performances of Cabaret take place Fri., Feb. 16, 2018 at 7:30 p.m., Sat., Feb. 17, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Feb. 18, 2018 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $64.99 plus service and facility fees.

Toronto Light Festival

The Toronto Light Festival is a free event at the Distillery District, which will be on until March 4, 2018. The Distillery District is located at 55 Mill Street (Parliament and Front Streets).

Winter at Ontario Place

Enjoy special Family Day weekend activities at the West Island at Ontario Place. Dress warmly because it’s much cooler at the waterfront. Enjoy a bonfire and food and beverages (extra cost) and warm up in the indoor areas. Free admission.

Shopping Bus Trip to Buffalo, New York

Enjoy Family Day by taking a shopping bus trip offered by Tripon by CAN-AR Coach to Buffalo where you’ll make stops at The Walden Galleria Mall (1 1/2 hours), Walmart or Burlington Coat Factory (1 1/2 hours), Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls (1 1/2 hours) and Tops/Target (1 hour). Cost is $60 and includes tax, round trip bus from Toronto/GTA to Buffalo, New York, and bottled water. Must have valid Canadian passport to enter the U.S. and be 18+.
