One sure sign of summer is the return of The Wine & Spirit Festival 2018 to Sugar Beach on June 22 and 23, 2018. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the festival, presented by Sobeys Urban Fresh, will feature wine, beer, cider, spirit and food vendors, a food and wine school, as well as live music. This is your chance to enjoy a party atmosphere on Toronto’s downtown urban beach. You’ll learn from wine, spirit and beer industry experts, as well as discover new products. Some of the wine, beer, cider and spirit vendors include: Big Rock Brewery, Pelee Island Winery, Northern Temple Vodka, Sandbanks Winery, El Dorado Rum, Creekside Estate Winery, White Owl Whisky, Barnstormer Brewing & Distilling, Brickworks Ciderhouse, Nobilo Wines, Malibu Rum, Landshark Lager, Deep Eddy Flavoured Vodka, Just Craft Soda, Long Weekend Wine Co., Creemore Springs Brewery, and Fat Bastard Wines.


Enjoy live music on the Wine and Spirit Stage while you at the festival. The following musical acts will be performing: The Dragonflys, Sabrina Soares, Blond Ambition, The Cliff Divers, We Are Monroe, Felicia McMinn, Chasing Angus, Kristin Lindell, Shawn Brady, East Side West, Burnt, The Funky Funk Band and Rufus & Momma’s Kitchen. Food and Wine School Curated by Feast On

Once you’ve had a chance to sample some wine and spirits, be sure to sit in on some sessions hosted by Ontario chefs, who will share their knowledge. Sessions are first-come, first serve and guests who attend will be given sample dishes to taste.

Cocktail Class

Guests will have the opportunity to make unique drinks during Cocktail Class. These sessions will be taught by celebrity bartenders, including Food Channel host Kevin Brauch. Each Cocktail Class is unique and will feature different drinks including Perfect Caesars, Cherry Bomb, Hibiscus Margarita, Frosted Shakes and When The Saints. Sessions will include sample tastings of all cocktail creations. Be sure to share your photos on social media.

Art Installations

If you need a break between sampling, check out the interactive art installations created by local artists situated throughout the festival.

Admission to The Wine & Spirit Festival 2018 is $23 in advance (event day admission is $35) which includes an official sampling cup and wristband. This is a pay-as-you-go event. Vouchers/Tokens cost $2 each and must be purchased onsite (cash only) or through the Token app (if paying by credit card). Featured wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, ciders and coolers vary in price and quantity per sample, depending on alcohol volume and the price of ingredients. Most samples/drinks range between 1 and 2 vouchers. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit goes the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.

  1. I love a good white wine and craft beer – would love to see what’s sorts they have on offer for the night and learn a little bit more about them!

  2. I love sampling new wines and expanding my repertoire – most of my favourites were discovered by chance at events like this! I’ve heard good things about Sandbanks Winery!

  3. Okay! I LOVE TORONTO & Sugar Beach! The place makes an old dog with stiff paws feel like a pup doing jumping jacks. So what’s not to Love?

  4. I’d like to try Pelee Island Winery wines. Haven’t been to Sugar Beach since it’s been rebranded!
