Summer is flying by so quickly – we have only one month to enjoy the summer vibes. Fortunately, there is a lot going on in Toronto in August 2018 including music festivals, food festivals, outdoor theatre and outdoor concerts. Have a look at the following Toronto events in August 2018.

VELD Music Festival 2018

If you haven’t enjoyed an outdoor music festival this summer, you still have a chance at the VELD Music Festival taking place at Downsview Park from August 4-5, 2018. The Civic Holiday Weekend festival will feature Loud Luxury, Seven Lions, DJ Snake, Benny Benassi, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Cosmic Gate, Yellow Claw, 88Glam, Vini Vici, Tommy Genesis, Andrew Rayel, Bonnie X Clyde, Alan Walker, Aly & Fila, Rezz, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Killy, Joyryde, Migos and more. General Admission 2-Day tickets are $199.50-$209.50 plus admin. fees; VIP 2-day tickets are $269.50-$279.50 plus admin. fees; and General Admission Single Day tickets are $119.99-$139.99 plus admin. fees and can be purchased online. Downsview Park is located at 35 Carl Hall Road.

Shakespeare in High Park 2018

Canadian Stage’s Shakespeare in High Park is featuring performances of Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream throughout summer 2018. Staged at the High Park amphitheatre, the performances are pay-what-you-can, although there is also preferred seating, which is $25, and can be reserved online. Performances during August are Romeo and Juliet on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8 p.m. Run time is 1 hour and 40 minutes with no intermission. Preferred seat reservations will be held until 7:45 p.m. No pets, no alcohol allowed. Lawn chairs are allowed only at the rear of the hill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Waterfront Night Market

The Waterfront Night Market has a new location at Ontario Place this year. Taking place August 10-12, 2018, the market will feature over 100 food vendors offering a wide variety of cuisines. The market hours are Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 2 p.m. to midnight; and Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Waterfront Night Market is located on the West Island at Ontario Place, 955 Lake Shore Blvd. West. Admission is free.

Taste of the Danforth

One of the most popular Toronto events in August 2018 is The Taste of the Danforth. This street celebration will proceed on August 10-12, 2018 despite the recent Danforth shooting. Here’s your chance to taste some delicious offerings from Greek restaurants along the Danforth, listen to Greek music and participate in some fun activities. The Sports Zone will feature challenges from the Leafs, Raptors, Argos, Toronto FC and Toronto Rock. Check into the El Royale on Hollywood on the Danforth and choose a key for a room in California or Nevada. Kids will enjoy building and designing with 18,000 LEGO blocks at the Kids Fun Zone. Taste of the Danforth hours are Friday, August 10, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Toronto Vegandale Food Drink Festival

Fort York at Garrison Common will host Toronto Vegandale Food Drink Festival from August 11-12, 2018. Some of the vendors selling vegan food include Dolled Up Desserts, Bareburger, Kelly’s Bake Shoppe, Pochiche, Champs Diner’s Biggie Brunch Fries & Chikn n Waffle, Glory Hole Doughnuts, Compton Vegan, These Wingz, Ben & Jerry’s and The Little Almond.

Festival of South Asia

Gerrard Street East comes alive during the Festival of South Asia from August 18-19, 2018. See South Asian dancers, musicians and performances and taste some of the best curries, dosas and uthapams that the Gerrard-India Bazaar has to offer. The Festival of South Asia takes place on Gerrard St. E. between Glenside and Coxwell Avenue.

Concerts at Budweiser Stage in August 2018

Enjoy a concert outdoors at Budweiser Stage (formerly Molson Amphitheatre) at Ontario Place. Tickets for Budweiser Stage concerts can be purchased at Ticketmaster. The following concerts takes place in August 2018:
