I have been a fan of Province Apothecary organic skincare line for several years. I love the springlike scent of their Geranium & Rose Toner and their Neroli & Frankincense Face Serum leaves me feeling calm and my skin soft. So I was excited when I was asked to come in for a complimentary Luminous Light Therapy Facial at Province Apothecary‘s skincare clinic at 1554 Dundas Street West. The key feature of the Luminous Light Therapy Facial is the LED (Light Emitting Diode) treatment, which helps increase collagen production and blood flow to reduce fine lines and inflammation.

When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by Holistic Nutritionist Fran Allen and led into a treatment room. Fran spent some time asking me about my skin concerns, which are rosacea and dry skin, and asking about my daily skincare routine. I feel my daily skincare routine is pretty good: my morning routine is dry brush, cleanse, apply toner, serum and/or moisturizer, use my jade roller and apply sunscreen if I’m going out. My night routine involves cleansing and applying a night serum.

After our consultation, Fran gathered the specific Province Apothecary products to treat my skin and the facial began.
Fran thoroughly cleansed my skin with Province Apothecary’s Cleanser and Makeup Remover. She then applied their Invigorating & Balancing Toner with Rose and Geranium before exfoliating my skin and gently massaging my face.
Now it was time for the light therapy. Fran covered my eyes with cotton pads and aimed the light at my face. While lying there, I saw a blue light from underneath my eyelids. Fran left the room to prepare a custom serum for me and returned 10 minutes later. After the 15 minutes of light therapy, Fran applied Province Apothecary Detoxifying & Clarifying Clay Mask to my face. She then applied a serum of essential oils, customized to address my skin’s needs.

I really enjoyed my Luminous Light Therapy Facial with Fran. Fran has a lovely personality and is a gentle practitioner who is sensitive to your needs. I loved the relaxing head and shoulder massage, which I needed after fighting traffic to get to my appointment!

A few days later, I am looking at my face in the mirror and admiring that it has an even tone and my typical inflammation has all but disappeared. This is not how I look after other facials: usually my face looks like a ripe tomato!
The Luminous Light Therapy Facial is 60 minutes and costs $120. Follow up facials are 45 minutes and cost $100.

I’ve never had a facial massage or light therapy. It sounds like something my neglected face could use. I’m seeing about making an appointment.
Of all the facials I had, this light therapy facial was the most effective at reducing my rosacea. Cheers, Lori

This facial treatment is great. I believe that I need one too. Will check if this is available in my local area. Thank you for sharing about it.
I believe that light therapy facials are relatively new. I hope you get a chance to try one! Cheers, Lori
Can we get a close up photo of your skin before and after the treatment?
