Canada, however, isn’t just about its natural beauty or unique wilderness. It is also home to some of the most modern and vibrant cities in the world, such as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The Scenery

Canada is world famous for breathtaking and picturesque scenery. It is well-known for being a great destination for those who enjoy outdoor activities, both winter and summer. Many people flock to British Columbia and Alberta in the winter to enjoy skiing at Revelstoke, Whistler, Sun Peaks and Lake Louise. Ontario has the most natural lakes ; as a result many Ontarians visit or have a cottage in lake country to enjoy boating, kayaking, waterskiing and swimming. The Maritimes are surrounded by the Atlantic ocean and feature golf courses with sweeping views of the sea, rugged terrain, and stunning hiking trails in Gros Morne National Park and Fundy National Park. While in Canada, you are never too far from a lake or adventure trail, and you would have to spend years in this country in order to experience everything that its landscape and scenery has to offer.

Canada Is Easy To Reach

As Canada is one of the largest countries geographically in the world, you can fly there from any country in the world. Flights are regular to this destination as well, so you should have no difficulties finding a flight that suits your needs. Once you have decided  where in Canada you want to fly to, you will be able to book flights to any of its popular cities such as Ottawa or Montreal via a regional airline such as Porter. To find out more about flights to Ottawa, visit Porter Airlines.

Canadian Cuisine

While there are many different reasons why you should visit Canada for your next vacation, one reason is the varied cuisine. Canadian cuisine is influenced by its multiculturalism. Many of Canada’s major cities have a Chinatown, Greektown, Little Italy, Little Portugal, Little India, and Little Korea where you can enjoy foods of that culture. Canada is famous for its native dishes and foods such as maple syrup, Canadian (back) bacon, Montreal bagels (and smoked meat!), Nova Scotia lobster rolls, PEI mussels, Malpeque oysters, tourtiere, Nanaimo bars and butter tarts. No matter how fussy an eater you are, you will be able to find something that gets your taste buds salivating. In the province of Quebec, you will find cuisine influenced by its French heritage. Two Quebecois specialties include poutine, which is basically French fries with cheese curds, covered in delicious gravy and Beavertails, which are fried dough pastry topped with whipped cream, cinnamon or chocolate hazelnut. You might be slightly skeptical at first, but give these dishes a try. You won’t regret it!

Friendly Canadians

It is well known globally that Canadians are among some of the friendliest and happiest people you will ever meet. Many people, including Canadians, joke that a Canadian’s favourite word is ‘sorry’ because they are so polite and just can’t do enough to help you out. Therefore, if you are lost and need to ask for directions, don’t worry about asking a local for assistance. Canadians are used to the influx of tourists and will be happy to help. You are sure to feel welcome in Canada as it is a melting pot of religions, races and cultures, so you should feel right at home.

The Four Seasons in Canada

One of the best things about making Canada your next vacation destination is it is a country you can visit at any time of the year. While it is well known for its harsh winters which make skiing and snow holidays very popular, it also has very warm, sunny summers to offer its visitors. For instance, temperatures in the summer can range from 25C to 35C. The four distinct seasons in Canada offer you unique experiences depending on what time of year you visit. We have already mentioned the stellar skiing conditions in B.C. and Alberta for winter sports lovers. Summertime is another great time to explore Canada, particularly at popular national parks such as Thousand Islands National Park , Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and Banff National Park. However, if you get a chance to visit during autumn, then you will witness some of the most stunning fall colour offering burnt orange, mustard and copper tones. The autumn views on the Agawa Canyon Train Tour in northern Ontario are spectacular. They truly are postcard perfect scenes!

The Architecture

The architecture in Canada is often overlooked, but it is among some of the most impressive across the globe. When you think about impressive architecture and unforgettable buildings, Canada probably doesn’t spring to mind initially. But each city and region of this country has a unique type of architecture to offer. Whether architecture is something that interests you or not, you are sure to be impressed by the outdoor staircases on many houses in Montreal or the Victorian-era industrial buildings in Toronto’s Distillery District. One of the most notable buildings in Toronto is the iconic CN tower, which receives approximately two million visitors every year. Check out this recent visit to 360 Restaurant at the top of the CN Tower.

Road Trips

If you enjoy a road trip and like travelling from one city to the next, then Canada is the vacation destination for you. The country is home to one of the most beautiful drives in the world – the Icefields Parkway – a four-hour drive that takes you on a tour of some of the most picturesque views in the country, including Bow Glacier Falls, Peyto Lake, Mistaya Canyon and Crowfood Glacier. If you have longer to dedicate to a road trip, then you should consider the 10-hour drive from Calgary to Vancouver where you’ll see Moraine Lake, Glacier National Park, Takkakaw Falls and Emerald Lake, to get a real taste of the Canadian landscape or the eight-hour drive along the majestic Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia.

Canada Is Different from the U.S.

Often Canada is compared to neighbouring America, which isn’t a fair representative of the country in any way. Instead, the two countries are unique and distinct destinations with different cultures, histories and traditions. Canada is much more tolerant of people of different cultures and religions and has much less crime due to stricter gun control laws. Canadian citizens are less aggressive than U.S. citizens and the cities and subways in Canada are cleaner than in the U.S. Therefore, you shouldn’t assume that if you have been to the United States that you have experienced all that Canada has to offer.

Those are only eight reasons to visit Canada. If you get the opportunity to visit, then you should definitely take advantage of it. Whether you are travelling as a family who likes to explore outdoor activities, or you are a couple looking for a vacation that offers arts, food and culture, Canada is the best destination for you. Canada truly offers the full package for every type of traveller.
