Labour Day weekend is the last official weekend of the summer; many people like to check off the last items on their summer bucket list before school starts and everyone returns to the office from vacation. Labour Day weekend 2019 arrives early this year: August 30 to September 2, 2019. If you want to enjoy some end-of-summer events, below are a few things to do Labour Day weekend in Toronto 2019.

Toronto International BuskerFest 2019
The Toronto International BuskerFest celebrates a wide range of busker acts, including circus acts, aerial acts, magicians, comedy acts, aerial acrobatics, fire tricks, dancers, hula, comedians, jugglers and stilt walkers. If you’re looking for things to do Labour Day weekend in Toronto 2019 for the whole family, this is your event. The Toronto International BuskerFest takes place at Woodbine Park from Friday, August 30, 2019 to Monday, September 2, 2019, Labour Day Weekend 2019. Hours are Fri., Aug. 30, 2019 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 31, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Mon., Sept. 2, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is by donation to Epilepsy Toronto. Woodbine Park is located at 1695 Queen St. E.

Air Show at CNE 2019
One of the most popular Labour Day Weekend events in Toronto 2019 is the Air Show at the Canadian National Exhibition. This year, the Air Show celebrates its 70th anniversary and features a new show with the Red Arrows, a premier aerobatic display team. The Red Arrows are nine BAE Systems Hawk fast-jets that showcase the excellence of the Royal Air Force. Of course, our favourite Canadian Forces Snowbirds will also be back to perform at the Air Show in Toronto, which takes place on Sat., August 31, 2019, Sun., Sept. 1, 2019 and Mon., Sept. 2, 2019. Watch the Air Show at the CNE waterfront beginning at 12 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Admission to the Air Show is free with CNE admission.
The Winter’s Tale by Shakespeare in the Ruff
Shakespeare in the Ruff performs one of Shakespeare’s “problem” plays, The Winter’s Tale at Withrow Park on Fri., Aug. 30, 2019, Sat., Aug. 31, 2019, Sun., Sept. 1, 2019 and Mon., Sept. 2, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Regular seats are $20 plus service fee; Premium seats (includes a comfortable camp chair) are $30 plus service fee. Purchase tickets online. Withrow Park is located at 725 Logan Avenue.
Ca-Rib, Jerk and BBQ Fest at Downsview Park 2019
The Ca-Rib, Jerk and BBQ Fest featuring the One Love Music Festival is North America’s largest 4-day Caribbean food and music festival. This food and music festival, taking place at Downsview Park, will showcase some of the biggest names in the Reggae, Dance Hall and Soca music industry. You’ll also be able to enjoy unique Ribbers and a variety of fare from food vendors during this Labour Day long weekend event. Kids can visit the Kid’s Zone and enjoy a kiddie midway, Carnival games and face painting. The festival runs from August 30 – September 2, 2019 at the Downsview Park. Admission is $2 and $5 (after 7 p.m.). Free parking. No pets allowed. Downsview Park is located at 35 Carl Hall Road.
Artfest Toronto at the Distillery
Artfest Toronto returns to The Distillery District on Labour Day Weekend 2019. Visit The Fall Fine Art & Craft Show and shop for painting, glass art, sculpture, photography, leather, metal art, designer clothing, accessories, home decor and gourmet food. Enjoy live music while you browse and shop from 80 vendors among the industrial buildings and cobblestone streets at this outdoor arts and crafts show. Artfest Toronto at the Distillery takes place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from August 30 to Sept 2, 2019. Free admission.
Angelique Kidjo at Harbourfront Centre Concert Stage
Three-time Grammy Award winner Angelique Kidjo performs at Harbourfront Centre’s Concert Stage on Sat., Aug. 31, 2019 at 9:30 p.m. Kidjo was included in the BBC’s list of the African continent’s 50 most iconic figures. Harbourfront Centre is located at 235 Queen Quay West. Admission is free.
Caribbean Street Food Festival at Daniels Spectrum
The Caribbean Street Food Festival takes place at Daniels Spectrum on Sat., Aug. 31, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. VIP Perks include Chef Noel’s Signature Pumpkin Drink, Gourmet Mannish Water, Arancini (rice and peas with coconut milk and jerk chicken), Haitian Saltfish (cod), beef patties and sweet potato pone, Rum and Red Stripe Beer. Free General Admission. VIP tickets are: Adults $40; Kids 6 & older $15; Kids under 6 Free. Daniels Spectrum is located at 585 Dundas Street East.

Shakespeare in High Park 2019
Labour Day Weekend is your last chance to take in Canadian Stage’s productions of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and Measure for Measure at Shakespeare in High Park. The Labour Day weekend schedule is Much Ado About Nothing on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, 8 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 1, 2019 at 8 p.m. while Measure for Measure is performed on Sat., Aug. 31, 2019 at 8 p.m. Performances are pay-what-you-can.
