The holiday season starts in a few weeks and one of the most fun ways to celebrate is by piling the family into the car and going on a Christmas drive-thru or walk-thru. The drive thru holiday experience is continuing in Toronto and the GTA this year since it reduces contact with other people and keeps everyone safe. There are several holiday drive-thru light festivals offered in the GTA in 2021:

Holiday Nights of Lights 2021

Enjoy the Holiday Nights of Lights walk-thru in Vaughan from November 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022. This holiday light display features 1,000,000 LED animated lights, holiday tunes and four tunnels and a new garden to walk through. Holiday Nights of Lights should take 45 minutes; there is limited capacity; proof of vaccination is not required as this is an outdoor event.

Child Pass (2-12): $12.99
Child 1 and under: Free
Family 4 pack: $55 (2 Adult & 2 Child passes)
Friends 4 pack: $60 (4 Adult passes)

Holiday Nights of Lights will be joined with Holiday Fair in the Square, where you can shop at the artisan marketplace, relax at the fireside lounge, enjoy rides on the midway (additional cost), listen to carollers, see the decorated Christmas tree and have a photo op with Santa.

Holiday Nights of Lights is located at Assembly Park, 80 Interchange Way, Vaughan.

Casa Loma Holiday Lights Tour 2021

Enjoy a stunning light display as you walk through the gardens and under tunnels at Casa Loma. The grounds of Toronto’s landmark castle will be decked out in festive finery on this self-guided walking tour. Take the Holiday Lights Tour from December 13-30, 2021.

General Admission tickets: Dec. 13-17: $45 online; $50 onsite; Dec. 18-30 – $50 online; $55 onsite

VIP Package (admits 2): Dec. 13-30: $150. VIP Package includes 2 tickets; line by-pass; food and beverage credit (2 drinks and 2 food items).

The entrance to the Holiday Lights Tour is at the southwest corner of Davenport Road and Walmer Road.

Snow Magic at Ontario Place 2021

Snow Magic drive-thru at Ontario Place takes place from November 12, 2021 to January 16, 2022. This drive-thru experience features holiday lights, lasers, art and pyrotechnics. The 1.7 kilometre drive is a contactless experience with 18 magical art installations with a theme of Celestial, Terra Firma and Oceanic.

Dates and Times:

November 2021: Wednesday – Sunday: 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
December 2021 & January 2022: Daily: 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Prices (per vehicle):

Off-Peak Times: $45 plus tax and fees
On-Peak Times: $65 plus tax and fees

Holly Jolly Christmas Drive Thru in Pickering 2021

Drive through Pickering Museum Village with your family or friends on the Holly Jolly Christmas Drive 2021. Play a heritage Christmas trivia game; learn about the origin of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer; and sing carols in your car. Enjoy a socially-distanced visit with Santa at the end of the tour.

The Holly Jolly Christmas Drive takes place on Saturday, November 20, 2021, Sunday, November 21, 2021, Saturday, November 27, 2021 and Sunday, November 28, 2021. Only one ticket is required per vehicle. Must book in advance. When booking, select “1 participant” to book your vehicle. Call 905-683-8401 for ticket assistance.

A vaccine passport is not required for the drive thru. COVID Screening to be completed upon arrival. Masks required. Pickering Museum Village is located at 2365 Concession Rd. 6, Greenwood, Ontario.

  2. Wow! This is a great idea! With the pandemic, a drive-thru is a safe way to enjoy the Christmas decorations. How we wish we live near Toronto. Hope we’ll have a local version of this too.
