During this past year of the pandemic, I lost at least 40 pounds. While I am thrilled about that, I wasn’t as pleased to see the tiny wrinkles appearing on my face! I guess that’s the trade-off of weight loss when you get older! With these newly-appearing wrinkles, I was excited to receive Vivier skincare products to test for myself. [Disclosure: I received the Vivier products mentioned in this blog post on a complimentary basis in order to complete my review.]
If you are new to the Vivier brand, Vivier is a Canadian, family-owned pharmaceutical company. Their skincare products target different skin concerns. Fortunately for me, many of Vivier skincare products contain a variety of ingredients to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. For example, Vivier C E Peptides Antioxidant Serum, $190, contains peptides, which are great for hydrating the skin. You may have been hearing about peptides a lot lately; they are amino acids that penetrate your skin and encourage cells to produce more collagen and protect your existing collagen. In a nutshell, increased collagen will make your skin firmer! Yayyy!
Another great product for anti-aging is Vivier Peptide CR Eye Creme, $136, which contains peptides, Retinol and Vitamin C. Retinol is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It improves your skin’s texture, enhances collagen production and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. An added bonus is when peptides increase collagen production, it increases hydration. Retinol brightens you skin and can also fade age or sun spots on your skin and give you a more even complexion. So if you are concerned about the appearance of aging, say ‘yes’ to Retinol!
Vivier’s Peptide CR Eye Creme has a creamy texture; I just put a dab or two of the creme under my eyes using my pinky or ring finger or even a Q-tip. I then massage it very gently under my eye. The peptides will work to reduce those fine lines.
Vivier Age-Defying Body Lotion, $89, also contains peptides, antioxidants, Squalane and Hyaluronic Acid. The lotion has a Vitamin C Scrub scent, which has a gorgeous citrusy smell and is not strong at all. I love using the body lotion every day on my arms and legs. It has a really silky texture and makes my skin feel really soft. Unlike some other body lotions, this lotion seems to have staying power because my skin is still soft after 24 hours.
I have been using Vivier C E Peptides Antioxidant Serum every day since I received it. Compared to other serums, I would say it’s a little heavier in texture when first applied to the skin, but after about 15-20 minutes, the product seems to absorb into my skin and I just feel smooth skin. I use about three drops on my face in the morning. The instructions do say that you can use the serum once or twice a day. I did read that sensitive skin (mine!) may take a little while to get accustomed to peptides so I thought I would start with one application a day. By the way, exfoliating the skin will help peptides penetrate beyond the first layer of your skin.
Vivier also has a line of SPF 30 products including Vivier Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30, $66, which I received. When the days are a little sunnier, I will update this blog post to report on Vivier Sunscreen Lotion.
I am very impressed with the quality and ingredients of Vivier skincare products. I’m also happy that this is a Canadian brand! If you’re interested in trying Vivier skincare products, you can purchase Vivier products online.
